TRAPPING

The Animals VoiceŠ

Approximately 11 million animals are trapped and killed every year for their fur worldwide! Trapping is the worst kind of animal cruelty that one can inflict on another being and it is unfortunate to see how many so called 'modern societies' still practice this barbarity. There are many kinds of traps but the most widely used are the leghold, conibear traps or snares and they have all this one thing in common, they are all indiscriminate killers. The fact that so many victims are animals does not take away from the fact that you or your children cannot fall victim to this barbaric device of cruelty. The steel jawed leghold traps have the capacity to seriously injure an adult, amputate a childs leg and mutilate a person. Do not feel safe until your government bans trapping of any kind.

THE LEG-HOLD TRAP

The steel-jaw leghold trap is the most commonly used trap in the USA. When the animal steps in the middle of the trap, it slams shut in a vice- like grip. It will either shut tight on the body or on the victims leg. In the most excruciating pain, the animal will frantically pull against the trap in attempt to free itself. Some will even chew through thier own limbs, suffer tooth and mouth damage by biting at the trap or die of starvation or may fall victim to other predators. Animals with young will be desparate to get back to them, they will either twist off their trapped limbs or will attempt to chew through them. Even in a short period of time with a limb caught in a leg hold trap is excruciating. This may last for many hours but eventually the animal gives in to shock, exhaustaion, hypothermia, exposure or death. leaving young to suffer of starvation, if not torn apart by other predators, even hunting dogs.

Whilst the wolf is struggling in the trap that its been caught in, the trapper will either club, shoot, strangle or stomp on the animal until it takes its final breath to preserve the pelt.

The Animals VoiceŠ

The Leghold traps are mainly set up by trappers to capture furbearing animals such as wolf, raccoon, coyote, fox, bobcat etc. Endangered - threatened species, cats and dogs birds, porcupines, deer and humans have fallen victims too. Each year traps in the USA kill millions of 'non targeted' animals. "Non targeted' is the common phrase used by trappers as if they can actually target a trap. That is an impossible notion. These 'non targeted animals are referred to as 'Trash animals' by the trapping society.

TRASH ANIMALS - Let me show you some of these 'Trash animals'

These pictures speak for themselves, some highly endangered - threatened species to much beloved pets. The sad part about it is, that some of these traps are set within a few metres of your homes.

THE CONIBEAR TRAP

The Animals VoiceŠ

Conibear traps are designed to kill animals quickly. If the animals are caught in the trap squarely on the neck are killed quickly and arent left to suffer or given a chance to escape.

THE SNARE

The Animals VoiceŠ

Snares are a wire noose or an anchored cable that are mainly set to catch wild rabbits and squirrels.

M44 Poison

M44 is a device that ejects cyanide into the mouth of an animal and is commonly used to kill coyotes. They are not selective and therefore kill non-targeted animals including dogs. Most states have banned this brutal device for use by the public, but it is used by the Federal Wildlife Services. M44 is deployed on both public and private land.

CRUELTY TO WOLVES (MOTHER WITH HER PUP)

Trappers kill millions of animals every year. Pictured above - shows you the mother that was shot and watching in the background was her pup which had been caught in a trap and was in excruciating pain.

TRAPPER WITH DEAD MOTHER - PUP IN BACKROUND COWERING UNDER BUSH

A photograph of a trapper in Idaho, Nez Perce employed by the National Forest Dept posing happily for a photograph whilst a wolf caught in his trap is obviously suffering in the background. The picture is not a once in a lifetime occurence. Trappers like to be photographed torturing and taunting their trapped victims further before they finally kill it. Usually by strangling it or crush the life out of it by stomping on its chest etc. It sounds horrid but it is fact.
